In the following summary we offer you the most important festivity dates that Gandia celebrates each year. They are all lots of fun for the tourists coming to visit this beautiful town in the Levante Coast of Spain. In Gandia as well as the rest of the municipalities of the commerse of La Safor the Patron Saint festivities have great importance. Other local festivities, celebrations and conmemorations are also important. They are activities where everyone is invited to participate and joing the great fun.
The first festivity of the year after New Years is the festivity of Saint Antonio del Porquet, which is celebrated on the 17 of January in honor of all of the animals.
In the middle of March, the Fallas are something that everyone should come and see atleast once in their lives. It is something from Valencia that dates back more than 115 years. They fill the streest with brand new surprising makings as it if it was part of a grotesque deream. It is a provocative and sarcatstic replica of things that have made the news throughout the year. The smell of fireworks and the great and lively atmosphere make it lots of fun for everyone.
Easter Week and the night of San Juan are other extraordinary festivities throughout the entire country of Spain. The celebration in honor of the Virgen of Carmen is also another very important date, honoring the fishermen.
The main Gandia festivities happen at the end of September, beginings of October. It is the week in honor of San Francisco de Borja. These festivities begin with parade through the streeds of Tio de la Porra. These acts and activities during these days are programmed with interest of all of the neihbors and visitors, and that they have fun and enjoy themselves. |
